ACRI Community Realty Association Website Team updates over 80 HOA Websites to HTTPS
As the largest property management company in the Greater Pittsburgh Area, Acri Community Realty is a company that prides itself on leveraging websites as an efficient way to communicate with our homeowners and Directors. With websites being a necessary component of modern day communication, Acri’s web design team has taken on the task of updating all association properties’ websites across the board to HTTPS.
Acri reminds everyone to browse safely and search for the “Green Padlock” Secure message to appear in the browser.
According to Search Engine Journal expert Brock Murray “HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol) and HTTPS (HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure) are both protocols, or languages, for passing information between web servers and clients. All you need to know is that HTTPS is a secure connection, whereas HTTP is unsecure. With a standard HTTP connection, it is possible for unauthorized parties to observe the conversation between your computing device and the site.” To learn more about the subject in order to keep your online communications safe click here.
About the ACRI Association Website Team
Although creating a functioning secure and visually appealing website might be a grueling task, Acri Developer Michele Roper enjoys the hard work and the occasional sleepless night.
“Our goal is to provide attractive neighborhood websites that are designed to connect residential communities with information that promotes and connects your homes and community members. Our websites allow your homeowner association and the Acri Community Realty property managers to efficiently and affordably provide essential information to residents while promoting neighborhood pride and unity,“ Michele explains.
Michele has been creating Neighborhood Notices websites for Acri Community Realty since 2008 and has taken on the job of updating all ACRI sites to newer, more aesthetically appealing mobile first versions that include SSL encryption. This summer alone, the Acri web design team has pushed out 15 brand new Association sites, and they are working hard on more to come. With all Acri communities’ desiring a web presence there is certainly no shortage of work.
Lori Miller joined the Acri team in January 2012 to help Michele with all of the work that goes behind the scene managing all of the community websites. She is highly trained and skilled in customer support. Lori also manages the extremely busy Acri Help Desk . She is also responsible for sending out all of the community email messages that enable our homeowners to stay informed with community association affairs. Coming from a long line of entrepreneurs her insight has proven immeasurable.
Additionally, Kerry Carron a freelancer focusing on web development and management joined our web team early in 2015 and has assisted us with the crossover to https along with providing countless hours of project R and D. Kerry is the founder ofan online company that helps web entrepreneurs sharpen their skills and face business challenges.
This summer, Michele invited Sara Mitrovic, a Duquesne University senior to hop on board.
Sara will be going into her senior year at Duquesne, pursuing a double major in Supply Chain Management, Information System Technology, and minoring in Finance. Although this is her first web design internship, Sara is enjoying the work she does for Acri Community Realty.
“My favorite part of working with the Acri web design team is that the tasks at hand allow you to be creative, yet still learn what is most logical and useful to those who are using these websites on a daily basis. The work behind managing all of them is tremendous, but we like the work because it keeps our minds spinning and working hard,” Sara comments.
The web team has switched over ALL of the ACRI Association sites to https as well as the newer and quicker mobile first format.
In the past two months alone, the team has been able to create and re-vamp over 80 community websites. Demand for Acri Association Websites is high, especially with the new online voter registration module add on. Although there are still more websites that need to be done, the team is thrilled with their successes so far.
Michele explains the advantages of each community having its own website. “By creating the HOA websites, the communities have an opportunity to portray their community as a modern, pro-active, and vibrant place to live and play. The sites also allow homeowners to view useful documents, such as Board of Director minutes, community budgets, and more. In this age communication is key to keeping homeowners pleased with their decision to live in a planned community.”
Sara comments, “Change is definitely a huge part of our daily routine. We are always updating our sites to reflect the latest security processes, adding https has been a major factor in complying with Google safety standards. We also like to make our sites visually appealing, so that the residents of the respective communities enjoy looking at their website and can utilize the content for information as well. Many common questions can be answered with a simple page view. According to our site analytics, many visitors are prospective buyers. An ACRI Association website adds value and ranking. An individual may choose to purchase in your community before an Association without website presence. Locking down your identity and internet footprint is a must have today.”
The Acri Community Realty Web Design team will spend the rest of the 2017 and beyond collecting images and data concerning the various properties under ACRI management.
The web team members will continue to deploy new sites while updating existing ones. Our goal is to ensure all ACRI homeowners are proud of their community websites, just like the Acri Web Design team is!
